 Welcome to BDPA-RI

Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) is a membership driven non-profit organization that positions its members at the forefront of Information Technology (IT) Industry. We are committed to deliver IT excellence to members, strategic partners, and local communities. Founded in 1975 in Philadelphia, PA BDPA bridges the Digital Divide with its programs and services. There are more than 50 active chapters located across the United States. Prior to the Rhode Island chapter that was chartered in August 2002, there was no organization in Rhode Island primarily designed to provide information exchange, education and networking opportunities to minority professionals.
 BDPA Mission
To build the economic sustainability of the minority communities of Rhode Island through the utilization of information technology by providing professional development, education and training.
 BDPA Vision
To become the Information Technology Educational Service Provider, in Rhode Island for minority business leaders and Communities.
 Strategic Priorities
  • Obtain financial sustainable throught Grants, fund raising and corporate sponsorships.
  • Engage in collaborative partnerships with corporations, schools, and community organizations in order to leverage resources, facilities and equipment.
  • Enlist the expertise of IT business leaders and constructively engage community leaders to volunteer.
  • Build and environment conducive to creativity and innovation while providing a context for personal and professional fulfillment.
